A Gift Idea from Hickory Farms

Hickory Farms has been around since I was a kid. The holidays aren't the same without some summer sausage , cheese, and crackers. But did you know that they sell more than that? The summer sausage is my favorite but they also have , ham, baby back ribs, cakes, fudge, cookies, and so much more.

Hickory Farms sent my family a Summer Sausage and Cheese Gift Set to Sample. YUMM! The cheese is excellent! And the Summer Sausage well that's just a given. We added some Triscuits to the mix and enjoyed a tasty treat. Of course the kids enjoyed the strawberry candy that came in the box the best.

One of the great things I saw when I was shopping on there site is that they now accept Paypal! Is that not awesome? They also have a Bill me Later option as well. Hickory Farms is an excellent source for your gifts this year . I know I'm going to be spending some moolah there!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Hickory Farms and received a Hickory Farms gift basket to facilitate my review.

Kid Made Modern by Todd Oldham

The people at Ammo Books introduced me to this fascinating book, Kid Made Modern by Todd Oldham. I was hooked by the bright pictures and step by step instructions. My daughter found it easy for her to understand as well as her brothers. Todd incorporates things you can find around the house, recycling, and crafts to come up with this fun and inspiring book. It is perfect for our many rainy days around here.

I was impressed with the many projects introduced and how many creative items can be made from items in our recycle bin. My kids take after me and love to create with their hands. When they get bored then tend to get into stuff they shouldn't. You all know exactly what I mean!

When that time happens (which is often) we pull out the book and pick a project. It keeps them entertained and working together quietly . Even my husband loves to get into the book and make project. His favorite was the house made out of cardboard boxes. Can you imagine? My kids and my husband in the living room designing there very own cardboard village. Unfortunately the boys destroyed it and I didn't get a picture of the master piece. *sigh*

Kid Made Modern is the perfect Christmas gift for your young budding artists.

Kellogg's is on the Fiber Bandwagon!!!!

Most of you have heard by now that Kellogg's has introduced fiber to two of their popular cereals, Apple Jacks and Fruit Loops. So what's the big deal you say, everyone is adding fiber in their food. Fiber has some great health benefits like fighting the battle of the fluff, lowering blood pressure, and helps control blood sugar levels. Frankly, I'm all for adding some fiber in my diet. I'm a tad fluffy If I do say so myself.

So , you say, does fiber in Fruit Loops make it taste different? Glad you asked. my family and I got to do a taste test. (what better way to get an honest oppinion than with kids). So For one week I gave my kids the one with out fiber first. Of course they gobbled it up. So the next week, we tried the one with fiber. To my surprise my kids didn't notice a difference. But for us adults, There is a slight color difference and the one with fiber tastes less sugary to me. But that's just me. And I'm happy with less sugary.

So I will be buying the Fruit Loops with fiber from now on. I'm all for my family getting the right amount of nutrtion. Who says that healthy can't taste good? To find out more about the benefits of fiber visit Kellogg's .

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Kellogg’s and received boxes of Froot Loops and Apple Jacks and a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Klutz Book Giveaway!!!

So how many of you loved the Klutz Books when you were a kid? I know I did. I loved getting these interactive craft books. They are so fun. Even now my daughter and I love finding news ones to purchase just so we can do a new craft together.

How many of you made friendship bracelets when you were a kid? Me!!! I was a bracelet fanantic and made them all the time. But back then I didn't get fancy. I wish I had a book back then to show me how.

Now you can! Klutz Books sent me this awesome book, Fancy Friendship Bracelets to check out. It comes with over 200 beads, 5 colors of waxed cording, and six charms.

My daughter and I made some together and she did a better job than me. I guess it's because her fingers are younger than mine. LOL But I did learn a neat trick to keep the ends from fraying, we added a bit of fray check to the cording and let it dry. This prevented a lot of the fraying issues we had. If you don't have fray check, just make the strands a tad longer so that when you cut the frayed ends you still have a bracelet that fits. I learned from experience. I'm just say'n. I wish I could show you a picture of the one my daughter made but she's in school and has it on.

The pictures in this book are big and easy to see. The instructions are step by step and very thorough. I understood them and so did my daughter who has a tough time with reading anyway.

The book even tells you what size beads and cording to buy when you run out of the ones they provide you. One thing I hate is having to guess at what size to buy. I have been there done that. This book is awesome!

So on to the giveaway.

This is such an awesome giveaway.

There is not one, but two winners AND you win not one but TWO Klutz Fancy Friendship Bracelet Books. One to keep and one to share with a friend. How cool is this!!!

Giveaway starts today and will end November 30th. This is for US residents (internationals may enter if you have a US resident that can accept your prize by mail).

Weekend Recap

1. Got really really lazy with the housework this weekend. . then my mother shows up with a gift for the boys! How embarrassing. She laughed when she saw a 5lb bag of red potato in the midst of toys, syrup still stuck to the table from breakfast, clean clothes strewn everywhere (courtesy of our boys), Legos EVERYWHERE! She was so sweet and offered to help me pick up the living room. I love my mom!

2. Dirt is fun! At least it is for little boys. We had two Huge piles of dirt to spread in our flower beds so they played in it while we did the grunt work. We even bought them a hoe and a rake just their size so they could help.

3. Don't let your kids play with Grub worms. . . they bite. I'm Just say'n

4. Little Monkey decided to bite his brother in the back. He's never bit anyone ever. Not sure why he did it. But he won't be doing it again.

5. My husband makes a mean Broiled Salmon. Need I say more?

6. Tiger pee'd in the potty chair without me telling him too. I'm such a proud momma.

7. Sam our 200lb English Mastiff apparently got bored overnight. He chewed the contents of the entire container of recycling on the back porch. Including the aluminum cans. I am not kidding you! Nice thing to wake up to.

So what did you do this weekend?

Michael Buble' - Crazy Love

Michael Bublé was discovered seven years ago when he was performing at the wedding of former Canadian Prime Minster’s daughter. The son of a British Columbia-based salmon and herring fisherman, Bublé spent the months his parents were away with his music-loving Italian grandfather, who introduced him to the singers who would become Bublé’s idols: Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Elvis Presley. “These guys were triple threats,” he says. “They could sing, they could dance, they could act. They were entertainers, and I believe that’s a lost art now.”

Bublé honed his skills as a showman through years of performing in hotel lounges and smoky bars — gigs his grandfather, a plumber, helped the underage singer secure by trading his plumbing services. Buble' has a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste in music. His debut album was an international smash, going Top Ten in the U.K. and Canada, and earning him his first Juno award for Best New Talent in 2004. The follow-up, It’s Time, sold more than 5.5 million copies, and has remained on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts for a staggering two years, and in the Number 1 slot for more than 80 weeks, an all-time record.

I was recently given Michael Buble's new CD, Crazy Love to listen to. What an awesome collection of tunes.

Seriously.

I knew most of the songs and could actually sing along. A few of the songs are such classics as Georgia on My Mind, Cry me a River, and Heartache Tonight. Even my husband and kids like it and they aren't into this kind of music. My youngest always asks to listen to "Mr. Bubble" . I love the fact that my kids are learning to be more versatile in there music preferences.

You need to get this CD. Really you do. It's full of wonderful older songs that have been brought back to life.
