Kid Wash!!

My boys are obsessed with car washes. So much so that LM wants to own a chain of them when he grows up. That's my boy! We have made car washes from the cricut out of card stock,  small cardboard  felt and toilet paper tubes, Big packing boxes, drainage tubes and craft paper and even cake.

I have lots of pictures of the others but for the life of me, I can't find them.  But with summer here we needed to find a way to keep them cool but would also appeal to their obsession.

So we did the only thing we could do . . .

Build a Kid Wash!!

We found the directions here very easy to follow. The only thing is that it is a tad unstable and costs more depending on where you live.  Ours ran about $50.00. I believe we will be adding more bracing to the structure. We used plumbers glue to attach the PVC pipe to the hose adapter so there were no leaks. and instead of using nylon lawn chair strips we used a clear shower curtain and cut it into strips and used the shower rings to hold them up.
The boys have been happy as clams ever since.

It was worth it just to hear their squeals of delight for hours. Let me know if you build one for your kids. I'd love to see how it turned out!

You are so much cooler than I am. My kids have to go to Grandma's for stuff like that. :0)

Wow, I am in awe! Cindy sent me here because my son is similarly obsessed with car washes. I absolutely love both of the ones you built! AWED!!! I am going to give the outdoor one a try!

Since one good car wash deserves another, here is Max's Halloween costume from last year: http://www.lovethatmax.com/2010/11/halloween-2010-boy-his-car-wash-and.html
